Who we are

Run 4 Cancer was set up by a team of running enthusiasts who have all lost a family member or a friend to cancer. As a cancer respite charity with a sporting focus, we provide relief from the difficulties of living with cancer.

Run 4 Cancer provides days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help both prevent cancer and assist in recovery post diagnosis.

Why run for us

We understand the importance of creating memories and we want to deliver 100 years’ worth of respite for UK families affected by cancer by 2025 – help us to make this happen even sooner!

Who we are

The NSPCC is the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK. We help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening again. We protect children through our nationwide services such as Childline and our Adult Helpline. We prevent abuse through programmes like Speak Out, Stay Safe, which is a session available to all primary schools in the UK to equip children with the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse and neglect. In 2017/18, we also directly worked with 79 children and families at our service centres in Southampton. A hub to provide therapeutic services to help children move on from abuse, as well as supporting parents and families in caring for their children.

Why run for us

When you join Team NSPCC, you’ll help our services across the UK that keep children and young people safe from abuse. Every mile you run and every penny you raise will help us be there when a  child needs us.

When you join the team, you will receive full support with your fundraising and training and access to a personalised training plan created by our partners Full Potential, a dedicated fundraiser to support you with any questions you may have, along with a fundraising pack full of lots of info and a free NSPCC running vest with letters to wear with pride on race day!

Who we are

The New Forest Marathon Community Fund, works in synergy with the New Forest Marathon. Money raised goes back into the community to help support projects that inspire activity.

Why run for us

Obesity and inactivity are currently the 4th biggest killer in the UK, it is estimated that 62% of the adult population of Hampshire and 1 in 5 children entering school are overweight and obese. We work with community Groups across the New Forest to put on an event to inspire all ages to be active through the New Forest Marathon. In turn, we help each of these amazing groups plan projects to get more of their members active and to encourage wider participation across the community.View the New Forest Marathon Community Fund Page for an example of this in action and to see exactly how vital this funding is.
