Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance
Who we are:
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced Critical Care Team to sick and injured people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight when they need it most. Available both day and night, 365 days a year, the Air Ambulance Critical Care Team is called out many times a day to attend road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses and many other incidents.
Using both a helicopter and emergency response vehicle, the Charity brings a team of highly skilled pre-hospital emergency medicine doctors and specialist paramedics to the scene of an incident, effectively bringing the hospital to the patient when time is critical.
Why run for us:
It costs approximately £15,000 a day to keep our vital service operational.
Many people do not realise we are a charity. Whilst we work in partnership with University Hospital Southampton and South Central Ambulance Service, who are funded by the NHS, we rely entirely on donations from the community to carry out our life-saving service.
By joining our team, you will be helping to raise vital funds to keep us flying and saving lives. We attend the most critically ill and injured people in our region, and we rely solely on the generous donations from those in our community to continue our lifesaving service. Without the support of the community, we simply wouldn’t exist.
