How does the New Forest race timings guide work?
Planning to watch, or want to track a runner’s progress around the course? Our timing guide predicts two things, based on 10 years of race data:
- Where each race’s runners will be at any given time — e.g. at 11am, where will the fastest marathon runner be?
- What time runners will reach a specific distance — e.g. what time will the fastest 10K runner reach the 5K mark?
Every viewing point includes a what3words location, so you can find your exact spot on the course.
Where can I see the full timing table?
Below you’ll find our full predicted timing table, showing every point on the course with its what3words location and expected runner times for each race.
The timing sheet includes its own instructions, so you can see exactly how to read it and get the most out of it.

Prefer a simpler way to track progress?
This pace prediction table is the quickest way to see where runners are, without needing a specific viewing point. Just pick a time or a distance, and see roughly where the fastest, average and slowest runners in each race should be.

How do I use it?
To find out when runners will reach a specific point on the course:
- Check your junction sheet for the distance you’re positioned at, in miles or km.
- Find that distance in the Full/Half, 10K or 5K columns, for whichever pace you’re tracking.
- Scroll across to see the predicted time.
To see how far runners have travelled by a set time:
Simply pick a time, then scroll across to see roughly how far the fastest, average and slowest runners should have reached.
All timings are predictions based on 10 years of historical race data, not live GPS tracking.
Is there a course map to go with it?
Yes — download our full route infrastructure map, showing every junction alongside marshal positions, medical stations and drink station locations.
